Tate Modern Observation Deck

The Tate Modern is a modern art gallery in the heart of the city, it’s an impressive building that is hard to miss. On the top floor of the gallery is the observation deck, this open viewing platform offers beautiful views of the city.

You can see sights such as St Paul’s Cathedral, as far as Wembley and Canary Wharf. 

Access to the platform is free through the main entrance of the gallery. There is also a bar on this floor where guests can enjoy a drink or snack whilst they take in the views of the city. 

Buckingham Palace

When you’re visiting London, Buckingham Palace has got to be on your list.

Home to the British Monarchy, this impressive palace is located in Westminster and is one of the top attractions in the capital due to the royalty it houses so you can expect a queue. 

Although you can’t get into the palace unless you book a tour, you can take pictures outside the palace gates and around the beautifully ornate fountain outside.

Another great picture opportunity occurs when the famous beefeater guards perform their change-over routine.

Piccadilly Circus

Piccadilly Circus is a historic and well-known junction in London’s West End that mimics New York Times Square with large display screens and bright lights.

The West End is home to the city’s theatre scene and is filled with posters, street performers, and other marvelous opportunities to get a great picture. 

There is plenty of room to take pictures in front of the big screens and around the fountains opposite. Many iconic photographs have been taken in this area and used in art across the city.

To get a real feel and a great picture, we would recommend going after dark. 

Big Ben

Big Ben is the iconic Gothic Revival clock tower attached to the UK parliament buildings. The real name of the clock is the ‘Great Bell’.

Over the past few years, the clock has undergone extensive maintenance to keep it in great working order. 

This iconic landmark is located at the Palace of Westminster, you can stroll along Westminster Bridge and take in the enormity of the tower.

Pose in front of the tower or get some cool shots of the architecture to remember the moment forever. 

St Paul’s Cathedral

St Paul’s Cathedral boasts one of the largest domes in the world at 366 feet high. It’s not hard to miss this enormous building which is truly magnificent to behold.

If you’re tired and hungry after a long day of exploring, you can take the weight off at Madison’s Restaurant and Bar. 

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule suspension bridge in the heart of London and one of the most famous landmarks in the city.

The beautiful architecture of the two towers and the bascules that lift up to allow traffic through the waterways is what attracts many visitors to the site. 

There are pedestrian crossings on either side of the bridge that allow tourists and keen photographers to make the most of the breathtaking structure.

At night, the bridge is just as beautiful covered in lights. On special occasions, the bridge is illuminated in different colors to support different causes and charities. 

Covent Garden

A former vegetable market, Covent Garden is now home to a number of incredible stores, restaurants, and bars that attract people from all over the world.

The covered market you see today was built in 1830 to help organize the area. 

There are plenty of opportunities to take photos around this area, especially under the covered market itself.

During different seasons, there are a number of pop-up stalls and events from different brands such as Aperol that offer whimsical decorations and the infamous Christmas light display. 

Trafalgar Square

Trafalgar Square is one of the most historic places in London, known for its lion statues and the Statue of Admiral Nelson.

This statue commemorates the victory of the Battle of Trafalgar and was built in 1830.

If all that wasn’t enough for you, there are also two identical fountains that make for a great photo opportunity, especially on a beautiful day. 

Sky Garden

Voted as one of the most Instagrammable places in all of London, the Sky Garden is an iconic building with an even more iconic view.

There is free entry to all but you need to book tickets online beforehand to avoid disappointment. 

Take in the views of the city, dine and drink at one of the restaurants and bars, and enjoy the architecture of the building.

There are plenty of photo opportunities at the Sky Garden, you can choose the outdoor deck or get a quick snap amongst the foliage indoors.
