Sunday Swag | March 8
Spring has hit London hard! The weather has already been pretty mild the last few months, but it's like once March came, the sun decided to stay out full time, and there's been some beautiful days of walking through the city, with no rain to contend with. The sun is also staying out later, which is always nice.
After 30 Rock ended, I was very upset, but it seems that Tina Fey sensed our sorrows and has brought us a new show to ease our empty hearts. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt just dropped onto Netflix on Friday, and I binge-watched all 13 episodes in a single day. If you're a 30 Rock, Tina Fey, or even Ellie Kemper fan, you'll love this show. It's cute, quirky and has the funnest theme song concept I've heard in awhile.
My Creative Practice class went on a field trip to a place near Liverpool Station called, "Bishopsgate Institute." It's a place where you can take classes and attend concerts, but even more amazingly, it also houses a library and archive of all the things about London you could ever want to see. ANYONE can go and request materials to look at. No fancy library card needed. We spent a few hours there looking through old photos, journals and books about London, and it was fantastic.
It's always wonderful to meet up with followers of my blog, especially when they're trying to follow the same journey as me! On Wednesday I met up with Susie, who blogs at Whilst in London, who came to London for a visit to check out the University of Westminster, before she attends in the fall. I wish her all the luck in her final months of preparation to get back over here for grad school.
My New York job search is going well. I already have a few bites of companies who really liked my resume, so I'm hoping something comes of that as I continue to send out applications. I also Skyped with a potential sublet for when I arrive, and it seems that I have found an apartment to live in for my first two months in NYC! I also procured a ticket to a live taping of Late Night with Seth Meyers and a concert ticket to see my favorite singer, Sufjan Stevens, all within the first week of my arrival. Things are coming together nicely.
