Sunday Swag | March 29

The clocks finally sprang forward for the UK. I really don't understand why it's almost a month later than the US, but oh well. It was nice having only a 7-hour time difference for a few weeks, rather than the usual 8 for the West Coast.

The third issue of my writing business course's journal went live on Friday morning. This time, alongside doing the web design, I contributed a piece. You can read it here. It's a satire about the Spitalfields area of London. We also had our launch party for the journal, which was incredibly fun, and a good way to say goodbye to the course.

I was walking down a street and guess who I bumped into and so amazingly and kindly let me take a selfie with him? None other than the incredible Mark Gatiss. You may know him as Mycroft Holmes from Sherlock, he also writes that show, as well as Doctor Who. He is so talented and I saw him in person back in November, as well as at the BAFTAs in February, but both times I missed out on getting close enough to him to ask for a photo, so it was so cool to be able to run into him like this. You may be able to tell from my weird smile that I am super excited.

This was my last week of my internship, and it was bittersweet. I was ready to be done, only so I could focus my time on wrapping up my life in London, but I also really enjoyed going in 2-3 times a week, because the staff was always very nice to me and it gave me some valuable work experience. They took me for a goodbye drink and gave me a thank you card and it was very kind of them.

I met up with my friend Madelaine on Monday! We know each other from college, but she studied abroad in London last year, and was back for a spring break visit. It was really nice to catch up with her and hear some of the latest theatre department gossip I've missed out on. Check out her travel blog!
