Last London Walkabout of 2014

Last London Walkabout of 2014

I love taking walks around random parts of London. When I'm bored and need to get my mind of something or just need to get out of my tiny dorm room, I like to get on the next bus passing by, and go wherever it takes me. Yesterday, I was in need of one final walkabout in London before I head back to the USA for the holidays. Since I'll be in America until January 1st, this was my last time in 2014 where I could explore London a little bit. IMG_4222 The first bus that came was to the Notting Hill area, so I figured that would work, and I made my way over to the colorful blocks of houses and wandered around for about an hour before finding myself on Portobello Road once again. Although I wasn't buying anything, I still wanted to browse the shops and see all the vintage items that always make me gleeful. I like this area of London a lot, and definitely need to come back with some cash next time I'm over here.

IMG_4225 IMG_4215IMG_4243 I figured I should go somewhere else, so I took the Tube, all the way to Whitechapel, and hoped to find some interesting things over there. Unfortunately, it was starting to get dark, and there were some sketchy people in this area, so I was not a big fan of wandering down back streets, especially alone, so I decided to leave and come back earlier in the day another time. I decided to walk to Brick Lane from here, and on my way stopped and got some very cheap (Β£1.50) Indian food that ended up being delicious, so if anything, I'll need to go back to Whitechapel just for that. I walked through Brick Lane, and then found a bus to take me to Oxford Street for one of my last classes of the semester.
